Lead by Ms. Hunter, our Campus AVID Chair, we are proud to announce that we are an AVID Campus!
-
College Readiness: AVID places a strong emphasis on college and career readiness. Students engage in activities and discussions that help them explore and plan for their post-secondary education, including researching colleges and universities, preparing for standardized tests, and understanding the college application process.
-
Organization and Time Management: AVID helps students develop organizational skills and effective time management techniques, including the use of planners and other tools to keep track of assignments, tests, and extracurricular activities.
-
Critical Thinking and Inquiry: AVID encourages students to think critically, ask questions, and actively engage with their learning. It promotes a growth mindset and a willingness to challenge oneself academically.
-
Field Trips and College Visits: AVID programs often include field trips to colleges and universities, allowing students to explore different campuses, interact with college students, and gain a deeper understanding of what to expect in a higher education setting.
