Volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of six players each, separated by a net. The objective is to send the ball over the net and ground it on the opponent's side of the court, while preventing the same from the opposing team. Points are scored when a team fails to return the ball over the net, or when the ball lands out of bounds.
Volleyball requires a combination of physical skills, such as jumping, hitting, and diving, as well as strategy and teamwork. Players rotate positions on their side of the court after each play, allowing each player the opportunity to serve, pass, set, and attack. Volleyball can be played indoors or outdoors, on a court made of various materials, such as sand, grass, or hardwood. It is a popular recreational activity and is also played competitively at various levels, including amateur, collegiate, and professional.
