Happy New Year, Rosie Sorrells School of Education and Social Services!
Welcome Back and thank you for choosing our school to begin or continue your scholar’s matriculation through high school. It is indeed an honor to be a part of your journey!
This year, our theme is “Engaging for Impact!” As I begin my third year here at the School of Education and Social Services, one of my goals is to move forward full throttle and in an intentional way while inviting others to join me in this work. Without a doubt, these past two years have been historical for various reasons. Thus, this year the teachers, staff, and I are planning to chart some new paths to engage with our students, our families, and with each other.
Guess what? You’re invited too! We need you and you need us to provide our scholars with impactful learning experiences and to encouragement to our team to stay the course if times get tough. We are so committed to this work that we collaboratively penned new core values for the 2022-2023 school year.
At Rosie Sorrells School of Education and Social Services, we
- Cheer for the ESSM village.
- Show compassion and share our passion.
- Work as a team to the meet the needs of the whole student.
- Model pride in our school and empower our students to do the same.
- Honor all voices.
- Empower our students to seek equitable experiences and encourage them to change the world.
- Communicate our needs to the ESSM community.
We welcome your holding us accountable to these values as we seek to give our very best, every day.
Especially in times like these, Rosie Sorrells School of Education and Social Services takes pride in serving each other, our school and our community with our heads, hearts, and hands. It is why we are “the heart of Townview” and we’re engaging for impact!
Sincerely,
Valarie Kendrick
