Degrees and Certifications:
Shannon Wright, Assistant Principal
My name is Shannon Wright and I am very excited to be joining the Nathan Adams Family. I just completed my 16th year in Dallas ISD. During my career in education, I have been building efficacy in students and teachers by providing formal and informal instructional learning experiences leading to academic success for all students
I began my career in 2007 as an Alternative Certification secondary science teacher in Dallas as a Sixth Grade Teacher at Seagoville Middle School. While serving at Seagoville Middle School, I taught as a Sixth, Seventh, Seventh Grade pre-AP, and Eighth Grade Science Teacher. I obtained my master's in educational leadership as well as master's in education with a specialization in STEM through Southern Methodist University and served in School Leadership roles as a Campus Instructional Coach, Instructional Lead Teacher, and Assistant Principal. I spent the past two years serving at Marcus Leadership Academy as Assistant Principal.
I am an advocate for providing students with opportunities for informal learning experiences. I was selected to attend an educator professional development institute at NASA in Houston, Texas where I became lunar and meteorite certified. I have presented with NASA and with SMU at the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teachers (CAST). I also have written science curriculum for the district in the teaching and learning department as well as serving on the testing and assessment side by creating sample items for the ACP (assessment of course performance). I began my career in Dallas ISD and continue to be Dallas Proud and am excited to be joining Nathan Adams Elementary. #BestSchoolInTown
