• As a 25-year veteran in education, Tom Brandt brings his passion for the whole-child approach as the Executive Principal of Skyline High School. His first ten years in education were as a high school social studies teacher, including teaching AP U.S. History at Townview Magnet Center.  He then moved into school administrative roles as an assistant principal at Adamson High School, Townview Magnet Center, and W. T. White high school, where he oversaw teacher evaluations and various high school departments.  Most recently, he served as Head of School for the Preston Hollow IB World School from 2014-2018, followed by serving as the principal of William B. Travis Vanguard and Academy from 2018-2023. He successfully led both campuses to an "A" rating for both the district and state accountability levels, with William B. Travis currently ranked as the #1 Elementary School and #1 Middle School in the state of Texas.  

    Tom Brandt is an alum of the Teaching Trust Teams program, Principal Impact Collaborative, and Raise Your Hand Texas – all programs created to build capacity toward leading effective schools.  He is currently a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin in the Cooperative Superintendency Program.  He has earned one of the highest Dallas ISD recognitions as a Master Principal and is the recent recipient of the 2022 District 5 Principal of the Year award.  

    Mr. Brandt believes, "My goal in education is to lead schools to inspire and empower life-long learning while supporting the unique potential of each student". 

    He lives with his wife and daughter in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas.
