The Visual Arts department of Booker T. Washington HSPVA is dedicated to the training in the visual arts and to prepare our students to enter a four year college or art school and to be prepared to enter the work force as a studio artist. The visual arts department consists of 6 full time faculty members for 200 visual arts students. Our faculty consists of working artists in the areas of printmaking , Drawing, photography and 2D design, painting , ceramics, jewelry/small metals, sculpture and 3D design. Each faculty member is certified in their area of expertise in the classroom and still creates in their area of expression. Classes are generally around 15 to 20 students per class depending on type of studio needed for said class. Studio classes are generally smaller while drawing and survey classes are generally larger.
