The Architecture and Interior Design program of study is designed to meet the needs of students interested in pursuing a career in residential or commercial Interior Design. Interior Design students will gain knowledge and skills about space planning; interior building materials and finishes; casework, furniture, furnishings and equipment; lighting; acoustics; wayfinding; ergonomics and anthropometrics; and human environmental behavior. During their senior year, students will enroll in the practicum in Interior Design. This is a course designed to provide job-specific skills through laboratory training, job shadowing or work situations in areas compatible with identified career goals in Interior Design. In addition, students will be expected to develop knowledge and skills related to housing, furnishings, and equipment construction or equipment management and services. The Architecture and Interior Design program of study is currently available and open for enrollment at Career Institute East, Career Institute North and the Career Institute South. |
