Aviation[Transportation and Logistics Cluster] |
Have you ever thought about a career in aviation? The Aviation Flight program of study is designed to meet the needs of students interested in pursuing careers in aerospace, aviation, air traffic control and as Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operators or electro-mechanical technicians. There is a significant need in this industry, as many pilots and air traffic controllers are retiring without qualified replacements in the pipeline. The program will consist of one course per grade level in grades 9–12. The practicum in Transportation Systems is designed to give students supervised practical application of knowledge and skills. Practicum experiences can occur in a variety of locations appropriate to the nature and level of experience, such as internships, mentorships, independent study or laboratories. The practicum can be either school-lab-based or work-based. Students will be provided with opportunities to obtain four certifications, one per course. The Aviation program of study is currently available and open for enrollment at Career Institute North and Career Institute South. |
