Prisma Y. Garcia is a proud graduate of Dallas ISD schools - W. A. Blair Elementary School, E. B. Comstock Middle School, and H. Grady Spruce High School.

Prisma is a business professional who has worked for philanthropic programs at major corporations. She spent almost 10 years working in nonprofit organizations, including Social Venture Partners Dallas and The Concilio and has experience in fundraising, consulting, and marketing analytics.

Prisma received a Master of Science in entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Science in science-business, with a minor in Latino Studies, from the University of Notre Dame. Prisma completed various certificates including a certificate in nonprofit management and certificates in social impact strategy and digital media in social impact from the University of Pennsylvania. She is pursuing a doctorate in sociology from Texas Woman's University with a focus on inequalities and stratification.

Prisma co-founded Community Does It - Cuenta Conmigo, the first mental health clinic in the 75217 zip code and continues to serve as the board secretary. She is involved with several other community organizations. In 2023, Prisma was honored as a “leader in diversity” by the Dallas Business Journal and a Community Ambassador by the Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce. She resides in the Pleasant Grove.

Prisma was elected to the Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees in May 2025
