President

Serving on the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees since 2020, Trustee Joe Carreón represents portions of Northwest Dallas, East Dallas, West Dallas, and Oak Cliff. During his tenure, Trustee Carreón has served on the Dallas ISD Audit Committee, chairman of superintendent's evaluation committee, chairman of policy review and Board president.
Prior to being in elected office, Trustee Carreón served and supported various elected officials including the City of Dallas Mayor’s Office, Office of the Colorado Governor, and White House. He has also served on numerous community boards, including Dallas Hispanic Bar Association, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Alumni Association, City of Dallas Housing Finance Corporation, City of Dallas Board of Adjustment, and City of Dallas Judicial Nominating Committee.
Joe is proud product of northwest Dallas and a practicing attorney. He attended Dallas ISD Schools David G. Burnet and J.T. Saldivar elementary schools, and E.H. Cary Middle School. Through the strong support of his parents and community, he became the first in his family to graduate from high school and college. Joe earned a bachelor’s degree and law degree from Southern Methodist University and a master’s degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
