On February 28, 2026, the Superintendent of Schools’ Designee approved the amendment of the following regulations:
DAA (REGULATION) EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES – EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Details:
Pages 1-2: Under section Procedures to Request an Accommodation Under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), in the fourth paragraph, language regarding a supervisor receiving accommodation requests and approvals at the supervisor level has been added; “located on the Benefits webpage” has been inserted after “form;” language regarding requests being verbal or submitted in writing to the supervisor has been struck.
In the fifth paragraph, language regarding submitting the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) form using the Accommodation form has been added at the end of the paragraph after “view,” and in the second bulleted item, “and how the reasonable accommodation will help remediate the disability” has been added after “applicable.”
In the sixth paragraph, “the supervisor and/or” has been struck after “the.”
Page 2: Under section Interpreting Services Request, in the first paragraph, “accommodation for an” has been inserted before “interpreter;” “forwarded” has been struck after “be” and replaced with “submitted;” and “using the ASL Interpretive Request Form located on the Benefits webpage” has been added after “BRC.”
In the second paragraph, “need” has been struck and replaced with “anticipated date of services.”
Page 2: Under section Service Animal, in the section title, “Service” has been struck and replaced with “Support.” In the first paragraph, “an emotional support or service” has been struck and replaced with “a support;” “the request for an accommodation must be for the employee’s disability” has been inserted as a second sentence;” “an emotional support or service” has been struck and replaced with “a support” before “animal.”
In the second paragraph, “service” has been struck before “animal” and replaced with “support;” “a” has been struck after “including” and replaced with “an emotional;” and “service” has been struck and replaced with “support” after “not.”
In the third paragraph, “service” has been struck after “a” and replaced with “support.”
In the fourth paragraph, “emotional support” has been struck after “of.”
The last paragraph regarding the registration of an animal has been struck.
