On September 8, 2025, the Superintendent of Schools’ Designee approved amendment and adoption of the following:
DH (REGULATION) EMPLOYEE STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
Pages 1-2: Under section Employee’s Duty to Report Alleged Misconduct, a new first paragraph regarding reporting misconduct within 48 hours has been added. In the second paragraph “There are existing resources through which alleged misconduct reports can be made and resolved. These resources include” has been struck and replaced with “Employees must report alleged misconduct to any of.” The numbered items have been struck and replaced with a bulleted list that does not include item 7, which refers to “other appropriate District and law enforcement authorities.” The third and fourth paragraphs regarding collaborative resources and dispositions have been struck. Three new paragraphs regarding child abuse reporting, supervisor reporting through the Critical Incident Report (CIR) system, and disciplinary action have been added.
Page 2: Under section Investigative Duties, in the first paragraph “one or more of the” has been struck and replaced with “any investigative unit as determined by the District including but not limited to the,” and “investigative units” has been struck after “following.” The numbered items have been struck and replaced with bulleted items.
Pages 2-3: Under section Employee’s Duties During an Investigation, “provide information pertaining to the investigation” has been inserted as item three which has resulted in shifting current language in items three through seven to items four through eight.
Pages 5-6: Under section Use of Electronic Communication with Students, in item 10, “three business days” has been struck and replaced with “48 hours.”
Page 6: Under section Cellular Phones, “the” has been struck and replaced with “employee.”
Page 8: Under section Adoption or Last Amendment Date, the date has been struck.
Pages 8-9: Due to the bulleted list under section Employee’s Duty to Report Alleged Misconduct, the first endnote has been struck and will be replaced by the second endnote.
DHB (REGULATION) EMPLOYEE STANDARDS OF CONDUCT – REPORTS TO STATE BOARD FOR EDUCATOR CERTIFICATION
Page 1: Under section Educator Misconduct, “as an educator’s alleged abuse or otherwise commission of an otherwise unlawful act with the student or involvement in an inappropriate sexual relationship, soliciting or engaging in sexual contact with the student or grooming behavior with a student” has been struck and replaced with “in DHB(LEGAL).” “Failure to timely report educator misconduct in accordance with statutory requirements and District policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. [See DHB(LEGAL)(LOCAL)]” has been added.
