On August 23, 2025, the Superintendent of Schools’ Designee approved amendment of the following:
EFB (REGULATION) INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES – LIBRARY MEDIA PROGRAMS
The amendment to EFB (Reg) aligns with SB 13 and HB 900 (TX Education Code Section 33.023 and 33.024) by codifying the required challenge suspension, parental access, and material restriction provisions.
The amendment removes outdated sections (professional library details, periodicals, AV media materials, and pay programs) that are now managed operationally.
It clarifies the distinction between board adopted mandates and day-to-day procedures by moving all implementation steps into administrative protocols.
In addition, annual classroom library acknowledgement language was added to comply with the guidelines.
To support this message, a copy of the regulation is attached.
The above regulation has been sent to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) for inclusion to the District’s Board Policy Manual. Documents generally will post within a few weeks of adoption.
