All Students Eat Free!
Free meals... all year for all students!
Food and Child Nutrition Services participates in a variety of programs that allows us to offer nutritious school meals to all students at no cost regardless of family income.
Breakfast and Lunch
We provide students with breakfast and lunch that meets or exceeds the requirements set forth by the US Department of Agriculture and the Texas Department of Agriculture. We tailor our menu to each different age group. Our menu follows a three-week cycle for both consistency and variety in our student's eating habits.
After School Meals
Our mission to feed students goes beyond the school day. We help ensure that students are happy and healthy in all areas of their life. The After School Meal (ASM) program helps schools integrate nutritious meals with educational and enrichment activities. Our meals fuel students to participate in clubs, athletics, and tutoring.
Saturday School Meals
We provide breakfast and lunch to students participating in a school educational program held on Saturdays.
Hunger does not take a break. We serve meals at participating schools during holiday weeks. Stay tuned to our website for information about meal service during Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring break.
The Summer Food Service Program brings free meals to children and youth 18 years and younger at participating sites throughout Dallas. All families have to do is find a site, have their child show up for breakfast and lunch and enjoy a healthy meal – no registration is needed.
Harvest of the Month
We provide students the opportunity to experience the flavors of nutritious Texas grown and produced foods. Each month we select a different fruit or vegetable to serve in schools, and provide students with information on its nutrition, how it grows, and about the farm that produced it.
A la Carte & Snacks
All our meals are free, but students can also purchase additional a la carte items & snacks.
