P-TECH and Early College Program

Building Futures Together! High school students can earn up to 60 hours of college credit in a career pathway of their choice, for FREE! Pathways include technology, engineering, criminal justice, business, software programming, hospitality management and more.

Magnet Schools

Montessori Schools

Single-Gender

International Baccalaureate

Transformation Schools

Open-enrollment campuses designed around an innovative instructional model, such as:  exploratory arts, leadership, Montessori, STEM, STEAM, personalized learning, hybrid, technology and project-based learning, biomedical science, and urban planning/architecture/environmental science.

Talented and Gifted (TAG)

This program is tailored to meet the needs of gifted students. TAG develops students’ skills in self-directed learning, critical thinking, research, and communication and promotes intellectuality, creativity, leadership and visual arts/performing arts abilities.

Visual and Performing Arts

Dallas ISD’s visual and performing arts magnets combine a love for the fine arts with a first-class academic environment. Renowned actors, singers, and many more artists have started their careers in a Dallas ISD visual and performing arts school.

Also, two comprehensive neighborhood campuses–W.T. White and Wilmer-Hutchins high schools–offer fine arts collegiate academies.

STEM/STEAM

What is STEM?…It’s an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and STEAM is all these plus an art component. Students are prepared for careers in high demand by engaging in hands-on activities in the STEAM and STEM disciplines, which are vital for a thriving economy and a safe society.

Career Institutes

Expand career options for highly motivated students who want to enter the skilled trades and earn a living wage right out of high school. The institutes offer courses leading to certificates in areas such as aviation, plumbing, electrical, cybersecurity, construction and much more.

Project-Based Learning

This academic program offers career exploration, technology and a project-based curriculum that emphasizes problem solving, collaboration, and various forms of communication, empowering student innovators and entrepreneurs.

Early Learning

Engaging Pre-K students in interactive learning at their early age, is critical to lay the groundwork for academic, social and emotional success. Dallas ISD offers free scholarship, and tuition-based Pre-K. Offering half-day and full-day for Pre-K 3 and full-day Pre-K 4, including at childcare partnership sites throughout the city. Early learners have opportunities to attend school with specialty programs such as magnet, dual language, single gender, Montessori and much more! Parents of Pre-K age students must apply to a specialty program and qualify for Pre-K.

Hybrid School

The hybrid school revolutionizes learning for our scholars by creating a flexible learning environment in which learning occurs remotely three days a week and face-to-face two days. On campus scholars problem solve challenges and create in small group studios and innovation labs. Students will design projects of their own unique interests and needs while developing and demonstrating competencies. During virtual learning, scholars have pacing flexibility and opportunities to engage with hands-on experiences and technology.

Virtual School

The virtual school is an innovative, flexible learning environment in which self-paced remote instruction and assignments are available anytime.  This virtual school offers a full menu of virtual courses approved by Texas Education Agency (TEA) as well as access to the resources afforded to students attending school in-person.  Families attending the virtual school determine when and where learning takes place.
