Mr. Chambers is the new member of the Science Department and will be teaching both physics and chemistry this 2017-2018 academic year. He previously taught at Urculine Academy of Dallas and at W.T. White High School (DISD) prior to that. Mr. Chambers was born in San Francisco, spent much of his childhood in San Diego, moved and attended high school (Klein) in Houston before matriculating to Dallas to study at SMU. Mr. Chambers holds two Bachelor in the Arts degrees from SMU; in Philosophy and in the Biological Sciences. He also holds a Masters of Science degree in biotechnology from UT-Dallas. Prior to teaching, Mr. Chambers participated in biomedical research at UT Southwestern where he helped discover drug therapy opportunities for treating pediatric glioblastomas and other tumors, as well as studying hippocampal neural transformations associated with sleep-deprivation, schizophrenia and post-dramatic stress disorder (PTSD). Mr. Chambers is very excited to teach and learn from the most talented young minds and artists in DFW. A former coach, he is passionate about soccer. He also enjoyed astronomy, molecular gastronomy and considers himself an amateur tiki cocktail historian. His family includes his wife (Nicole), his son Ford (4.5) and his new baby daugher (Collins 0.25). He also has a surprisingly athletic English Bulldog (Juan-Carlos, 7).
