Welcoming and protective schools
The Supreme Court’s DACA ruling leaving the door open for Dreamers to remain in the U.S. reinforces Dallas ISD’s position to embrace and celebrate the diversity of our students and families. We stand with the Dreamers and all immigrants and welcome the rich language and cultural assets they bring to the district. Dallas ISD is committed to following the law and providing a high-quality education to all students regardless of their immigration status, ethnicity, national origin, language, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or socioeconomic status.

In light of recent events surrounding immigration we know the community is experiencing uncertainty. We’d like to empower students, families, and educators with a list of community resources in an effort to help relieve concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions
In our diverse community of more than 157,000 students, we recognize that many of them and their families struggle with intensely personal questions, concerns and fears about the national landscape regarding immigration. Our critical mission – and our obligation under the law – is to ensure that our schools are welcoming and protective spaces where a student’s race, ethnicity, religion and immigration status do not create any barriers to that child’s education. To assist this mission, we want to share answers to the following questions regarding immigration status and our commitment to protect students from discrimination and harassment.
