Advanced Academic Scholars Recognition Celebration
Dallas ISD Scholars' qualifications are as follows:
- 7th grade –scored in the 95th percentile on 6th-grade STAAR Reading, 6th-grade STAAR Math, Spring MAP Reading, Spring MAP Math, Fall Map Reading, or Fall MAP Math
- 8th grade –scored in the 95th percentile on 7th-grade STAAR Reading, 7th-grade STAAR Math, 8th-grade STAAR Math, 7th-grade Algebra I End-of-Course, 7th-grade English I End-of-Course, Fall/Spring MAP Reading or Fall/Spring MAP Math
- 9th grade –scored in the 95th percentile on 8th-grade STAAR Reading, 8th-grade STAAR Math, 8th-grade STAAR Science, 8th-grade STAAR Social Studies, Fall/Spring MAP Reading, Fall/Spring MAP Math, 8th-grade English I End-of-Course, or 8th-grade STAAR Algebra I End-of-Course
- 10th grade -scored at the college readiness level on PSAT/NMSQT or scored in the 95th percentile on 9th grade STAAR Algebra I End-of-Course, 9th STAAR English I End-of-Course, Fall/Spring MAP Reading, or Fall/Spring MAP Math
- 11th grade -scored at the college readiness level on PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, or scored in the 95th percentile on 10th grade STAAR English II End-of-Course, Fall/Spring MAP Reading, or Fall/Spring MAP Math
- 12th grade - scored at the college readiness level on SAT, Fall/Spring MAP Reading, or Fall/Spring MAP Math
AP Scholars' qualifications are as follows:

- The student graduated as a member of the AVID College Readiness System.

The National Recognition Programs reward the hard work of Hispanic or LatinX, African American, Indigenous, and rural students. The National Recognition Programs create pathways to college for students from underserved communities by awarding them academic honors and connecting them with universities across the country.
To be eligible for recognition, students must:

Take the PSAT/NMSQT in October of their junior year.

Achieve the minimum requested PSAT/NMSQT scores (qualifying level varies by state by year)

earn a cumulative GPA pf 3.5 or higher by the middle of their junior year.

Identify as African American, Hispanic or LatinX, Indigenous and/or attend school in a rural area or small town.
