Candace Balderas-Miller

Candace Balderas-Miller is in her first year as the athletic coordinator at Hillcrest High School, joining the school after 10 years at Moisés E. Molina High School, where she served as the assistant athletic coordinator and head coach for the girls’ soccer and girls’ flag football teams.

She was a Dallas ISD Coach of the Month as well as the 2025 Region I Coach of the Year. Balderas was selected as a Dallas Cowboys Coach of the Week during Molina’s inaugural girls’ flag football season in 2025.

In her previous role, Balderas specialized in improving feeder pattern alignment and community engagement through strategic events and initiatives, increasing athletic participation at the campus level, and elevating student-athletes to play at the collegiate level. She participated in the Dallas ISD Future Leaders Academy cohort from 2018-2020 and was the biology department lead at Molina from 2019-2021.

Balderas is a proud West Texas native from Lubbock, Texas, where she attended Lubbock High School. She played volleyball, soccer, and participated in track & field before graduating with honors in 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Texas Tech University (2012) and received a master’s degree from the University of North Texas at Dallas in educational leadership (2020).

She and her husband Tyler live in Arlington with their two children, Maximus (3) and Avery (1), and their family rescue dogs.
