Title: Athletic Coordinator & Head Football Coach

Years of Coaching Experience: 14

Collegiate Alma Mater:
Oklahoma Panhandle State

Carlos Perez Jr. is entering his fourth season as the athletic coordinator and head football coach at North Dallas High School. Prior to becoming the head coach in 2022, Perez served as the school’s defensive coordinator, assistant head coach, and recruiting coordinator since April 2019.

With Perez coaching the defense, the 2020 and 2021 Bulldogs made back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time in school history. He also coached cornerback Mohammed Bility, who became the school’s first Division I signee in 20 years, when he signed with the University of North Texas in 2022. Since, North Dallas has signed 10 more athletes to play at the collegiate level including recent signee Samarion George, signing with Texas A&M University at Commerce.

As recruiting coordinator, Perez brought exposure for the school’s football athletes by welcoming more than 60 college coaches to North Dallas.

Perez previously served as the defensive coordinator at Woodrow Wilson High School in 2018. He also coached defensive ends at McNeese State University (2015-17), outside linebackers at Navarro College (2014) and was the defensive line coach at the University of Saint Mary’s (2012-13) in Kansas. While at McNeese State, he was named to the 2018 AFCA 35 under 35 coaches list.

In 2011, Perez graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education, and recreation. He later earned a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Saint Mary’s in 2014.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Perez is married to Sarah, and they have a 2-year-old daughter Lawson Jane.
