Danny Barentine is in his first season as the Skyline’s athletic coordinator after previously serving the school as assistant athletic coordinator and head boys’ soccer coach.
A dedicated educator and coach with more than 30 years of experience in education and athletics, Barentine began his coaching career at Alex W. Spence Middle School. He served there six years – five as athletic coordinator – before joining Skyline in 1997. He has led the boys’ soccer program for 28 years and spent 25 years assisting the football team in various coaching roles.
His leadership extends beyond the field, having also served as Skyline’s transportation coordinator, faculty advisory committee member, and chair of the physical education department.
A graduate of Reid Ross High School in Fayetteville, N.C., Barentine earned his associate degree from Grayson County College, a bachelor’s from the University of North Texas, and a master’s from Texas Woman’s University.
Barentine and his wife Stephanie have two adult children, Mason and Mattie, and two grandchildren, Brantley and Cooper.
