Gordon Booker is in his second year as the athletic coordinator and head football coach at Seagoville High School, joining the Dragons in May 2024 from North Forney High School, where he was an assistant football coach. This is his first football head coaching position.

In 2024, his first Seagoville team earned a playoff berth, finishing fourth in District 5-5A Division II with a 4-3 district record.

As the defensive coordinator for North Forney from 2022-2023, the team improved from 3-7 to 9-3 and won a bi-district playoff game. His defense was the top-ranked unit in District 10-6A and ranked among the top-20 in Dallas-Fort Worth, while his pass defense ranked second in DFW. He also was the head powerlifting coach and served as the Dean of Students at North Forney.

His previous high school assistant coaching positions include David W. Carter High School (2020-2021), Lancaster High School (2018-2019), Mesquite High School (2017), Longview High School (2014-2016), and Henderson High School (2013). He also served as the defensive line coach at Tyler Junior College in 2012.

A 2007 graduate of Longview High School, Book was an all-state offensive lineman, two-time all-district, and an all-East Texas selection in football. He went on to become a four-year letterwinner at Stephen F. Austin State University, earning All-Southland Conference honors from 2008-2011.

Booker earned a bachelor’s of science degree in kinesiology from SFA in 2012 and a master’s of education degree in sports administration from Concordia University of Texas in 2019.

He is married to Shelby and together they have two daughters, Kayla (8) and Kennedy (3).
