Vince Reyes is an avid educator who has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Athletics since August 2023.
Born and raised in the Kingsville area, Reyes started his educational journey in 1995 as a paraprofessional and coach at Corpus Christi West Oso Middle School. Prior to this, he worked as an electrician for three years. While it may have taken him 10 years to finish, he pursued his degree and teacher certification by attending The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Richland Community College, The University of Texas at Dallas, and Texas A&M University-Commerce. Reyes received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas, and his masters from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
He moved his young family to Dallas in 1996 and taught and coached at North Dallas High School; and later taught and coached at Skyline High School.
As he begins his 30th year in education, Reyes’ career path has allowed him to draw from a wealth of opportunities and experiences. He has served as a special education teaching assistant, math and social studies teacher, served as an instructional specialist, a social studies director, an executive director of strategic initiatives, and as an assistant superintendent in teaching and learning, school leadership, and operations.
He is married to Debbie, his high school sweetheart of 37 years, and has three children who are graduates of Dallas ISD: Rocky (30), Nicholas (27), and Abigail (24).
