Eric Derk

Qualifications: MS, LAT, ATC
Eric has been with Dallas ISD since 2014, proudly serving as the campus athletic trainer for The Legendary Lincoln High School. In recognition of his dedication and impact, he was honored with the DISD Phil Francis Making a Difference Athletic Trainer of the Year Award for the 2023–2024 school year. Passionate about athlete care and performance, Eric brings nearly two decades of experience to the profession.
Eric earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from A.T. Still University and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from New Mexico State University. Early in his career, he was awarded the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS) Scholarship, which preceded an internship with the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. He went on to become the first athletic trainer hired by the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, TX, where he also gained valuable clinical experience working with the Physical Therapy Department at William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
When Eric is not tending to athletes, you can find him spending time with his family, fishing, strumming the guitar, or chasing his golf ball around the course.
