Brian Welch

Head Athletic Trainer
Brian Welch has been with Dallas ISD since 2003 and serves as a head athletic trainer at the Sprague Athletic Complex. He is responsible for overseeing the campus athletic training programs at Conrad, Hillcrest, Jefferson, Kimball, Molina, Pinkston, Sunset, and W.T. White high schools as well as the central staff athletic trainers at Alfred J. Loos and Sprague athletic complexes.
Welch also provides medical needs to student-athletes at the six middle schools in the area, including Browne, Greiner, Holmes, Pinkston, Quintanilla and Stockard middle schools.
Welch graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s of science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University after majoring in kinesiology, health and biology with an internship in athletic training. He became a licensed athletic trainer in 2000 and began his career in the clinical outreach setting, covering Dallas ISD athletes on a part-time basis. Welch became a full-time member of the Dallas ISD sports medicine staff in 2003. He has had the privilege of working with many outstanding student-athletes, coaches, and administrators and has had the honor of serving as the athletic trainer for Kimball’s four consecutive boys’ basketball state championship appearances from 2010-2014.
Welch and his wife Jessica have been married 11 years and have two daughters, Samantha and Alyssa. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
