Sam Sorrell

Sam started working for Dallas ISD in 2024 and serves as the Central Staff Athletic Trainer at the Jesse Owens Memorial Complex. He has been a practicing Athletic Trainer since 2010. Sam attended Howard Payne University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science followed by a master’s degree in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Prior to joining Dallas ISD, Sam served as the Head Athletic Trainer at several schools: Colleyville Heritage High School in Grapevine Colleyville ISD, Manvel High School in Alvin ISD, and Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena ISD.

Sam holds additional certifications in Dry Needling, Graston Soft Tissue Massage and Corrective Exercise. He is a member of the North Texas Athletic Trainers’ Society, Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association, and National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
