Benefits
The district offers many benefits for full-time and part-time employees. We have many health coverages, voluntary benefits, and additional benefits. Please refer to our Annual Enrollment Guide for more information on each benefit offered.
When to enroll
New hire employees
Welcome to Dallas ISD! New employees must enroll within the first 30 days of employment. You can enroll in benefits through the Benefits Enrollment Portal or by contacting the Benefits Call Center at 972-925-4000 and select option 2. You must actively select or waive coverage within 30 days of your hire date. If you do not enroll within that timeframe, you will automatically be enrolled in only the basic life insurance plan, with all other benefit options being waived.
If you have a qualifying life event
Certain life events, such as having a baby/adoption, getting married or divorced, or if one of your dependents loses coverage, allow you to change your benefits. If you have a qualifying life event, make sure to update your benefit selections within 31 days. You can make changes to your benefits through the Benefits Enrollment Portal or by contacting the Benefits Call Center at 972-925-4000 and select option 2.
If you don’t make changes within 31 days of a qualifying life event, you won’t be able to make any changes to your benefits until the next annual enrollment period.
Please note it takes 7-10 business days before employees become active in our vendor's system. Cards are mailed out within one week of our vendor system’s update. Employees can check the status of their cards or coverage by contacting the vendor directly.
