The Dallas ISD Environmental Education Center is a 500-acre academic facility located in Seagoville, TX. The center includes more than four miles of nature trails, a 26,000-sq. ft. facility with interactive exhibits, a 70-seat ecology theater, four science laboratories, a live animals laboratory, outdoor classroom, fossil pavilion, working barn with a variety of livestock, vegetable, flower, and herb gardens, and a recently added astronomical observatory. The center's instructional programs, led by experienced teachers and naturalists, are fully aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Science and designed to help teachers at all grade levels meet the Texas Education Agency's requirement that students plan and implement both laboratory and field investigations during science instruction.

The mission of the Environmental Education Center is to help diverse learners develop an awareness, appreciation, and concern for the environment and use 21st-century knowledge and skills to make informed, responsible decisions, solve current environmental problems, and prevent new ones.
