PowerSchool - Parent Portal
The Family and Community Engagement Office assists parents who currently have a pre-existing PowerSchool/Parent Portal account and parents who would like to create a PowerSchool/Parent Portal account.
We provide the following assitance:
- How to create a new account
- Manage pre-existing accounts
- Assit with adding students to accounts, viewing student grades and schedules
- Resetting passwords
Benefits of PowerSchool/Parent Portal:
- Secure online access to grades, assignments, and attendance
- Email alerts of absences and grades
- A two-way communication tool for parents and teachers

How to Create a PowerSchool/Parent Portal Account
Types of Excused Absences
- Child's illness or injury
- Family emergency with administrator approval
- Death of a family member
- A doctor or dental appointments that cannot be
- Religious holy days
- Court appearances
How to Submit Excuse Notes:
- According to Dallas ISD Policy parents should turn in an excuse note to the
- school attendance office within three days of returning to school.
- Excuse notes can be submitted by email to the school. Contact school for
- email address.
- Excuse notes must include: Student name, ID, grade, date of absence, reason and parent signature.
