Welcome to Dallas ISD! The New Teacher Academy 2024 Summer Kickoff is now over. The information below can be used as a reference to the content and events delivered July 29 - 31, 2024.
The Journey Starts Here with New Teacher Academy (NTA) for all Teachers, Librarians/Media Specialists, Speech Therapists, and Speech Assistants new to their roles or new to the district in 2024.
Four days are added to your work calendar, including the 3-day 2024 New Teacher Academy and two additional "half-day" professional development sessions.
WHO ATTENDS NEW TEACHER ACADEMY?*
The following groups attend the 2024 NTA:
- Newly hired 2024-2025 school year teachers, librarians/media specialists, speech therapists, and speech assistants who complete their hiring appointment and receive an official start date on or before July 31, 2024.
- Teachers who started teaching with Dallas ISD in Spring 2024.
*Some campuses under specialized programs may have alternate concurrent training. Teachers should follow the direction of their school administration team on which events to attend.

*Dallas ISD defines Novice teachers as anyone in their first or second year of teaching in Texas.

Attend your Hiring Appointment with your Staffing Specialist. You and your Staffing Specialist must complete all steps of your hiring process to receive your Employee ID Number (EID) and a District email address. Commit your EID and email address (EAD) to memory! |

Log in to your District email at Portal.DallasISD.org and click the Outlook icon. Set a daily habit of checking your new work email. |

Watch for an email from NewTeachers@DallasISD.org. You will need this email to: 1) Register for NTA and 2) Sign up for laptop pickup. |

Continue checking your email for information and reminders throughout the summer. We'll send plenty of details before and during NTA. |

- Mark your calendar with 2024 NTA dates and locations.
- Make sure Dallas ISD has your updated personal email address. We will email you at the address you used to apply for your position until your official start date.
- Add NewTeachers@DallasISD.org to your safe senders list.
- When you receive emails, check for action items. You need to register for NTA and sign up for laptop pickup.
