Student Teaching

Clinical Teaching is a semester-long unpaid student teaching experience. The Residency Program is a year-long, paid experience where residents are employed by Dallas ISD while completing their certification requirements.

Participants engage in a co-teaching model with a mentor teacher, gradually increase their instructional responsibilities, participate in professional learning sessions, and receive ongoing support from Dallas ISD and their Educator Preparation Program (EPP).

Clinical Teachers and Resident Teachers participate in a series of professional learning sessions designed to strengthen instructional practices, classroom management, assessment strategies, instructional strategies, and other essential skills that support success in the classroom.

Yes! Both programs provide valuable classroom experience, mentorship, professional learning, and networking opportunities while allowing you to build relationships with Dallas ISD campuses. Participants are encouraged to apply for teaching opportunities within the district as they complete their program.
