Intergovernmental Relations
The Intergovernmental Relations department in Dallas ISD builds and sustains the district’s relationships with governmental entities at the local, state, and federal levels. Its key responsibilities include:
- Advocacy & Legislative Affairs – Monitoring legislation that impacts public education, working with lawmakers to promote policies that benefit Dallas ISD students, staff, and programs.
- Policy Analysis – Evaluating proposed laws, policies, and regulations to determine their effect on the district and advising district leadership accordingly.
- Funding & Grants – Working with government agencies to secure funding, grants, and resources that support district initiatives and programs.
- Collaboration with Government Agencies – Coordinating with city, county, state, and federal agencies on education-related initiatives, including transportation, public safety, and community development.
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement – Educating stakeholders, including parents, staff, and community leaders, on legislative issues and mobilizing support for district priorities.
- Board & Superintendent Support – Providing legislative updates and guidance to the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent to ensure informed decision-making.
