Office of Transformation and Innovation

The Office of Transformation and Innovation (OTI) is on a mission to provide every student with a "best-fit" school that matches their specific interests, aspirations, and preferred learning styles. Through our Public School Choice initiative families can choose from innovative options in their neighborhood, and Transformation schools.
Dallas ISD provides families with a wide array of choices to ensure every student can attend their best-fit school. All schools selected through this process are designed around an innovative anchor model, such as Performing and Visual Arts, Montessori, Personalized Learning, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
What are Transformation Schools?
Transformation Schools offer specialized academic programming similar to Magnet Schools, but without academic entry requirements. These schools do not have attendance boundaries, allowing any student to apply regardless of where they live. Enrollment is determined through a randomized lottery process, and transportation is provided for students residing within district boundaries.
What are Innovation Schools?
Innovation Schools are redesigned, legacy campuses that provide specialized academic programming. These have attendance boundaries, however, any student living outside of the attendance zone may request a transfer. Student placement is based on available space at each campus. Please note that transportation is not provided.
