Dallas ISD Montessori Choices

Dallas ISD Montessori schools apply the principles developed by Dr. Maria Montessori to create and sustain a safe, supportive environment that offers rich opportunities to meet the academic, physical,  social and emotional,  needs of all Dallas ISD Montessori students. In a Montessori community, your child will be with a mixed age group over a three-year cycle. This allows your child to learn and grow within a community with deep connections.

Montessori education is founded on Dr. Montessori's child development theory and everything we do in a Montessori community is in service to the child. By allowing the child to experience freedom with responsibility, to explore, cooperate, and create they become lifelong learners. Montessori students grow to be independent, responsible, contributing members of the world community.

Dallas ISD has Montessori schools in North Dallas, South Dallas, East Dallas, West Dallas, and now in the very center of the city in downtown. No matter where you live in Dallas we have a Montessori campus for you. Call your local Montessori school and ask if you can visit to see the beauty of Montessori in action.

Montessori Public School Implementation Continuum

Purpose: This document is intended to support Montessori schools within Dallas ISD as they seek to implement programs that align to the standards and practices as outlined by global Montessori organizations such as Association Montessori International  (AMI) and American Montessori Society (AMS) and the expectations of Dallas ISD. The continuum is not designed to be evaluative and should be used in tandem with the practices taught by Maria Montessori regarding observation, the prepared environment,  and the prepared adult. Please refer to supporting documents for a full understanding of the Dallas ISD Montessori philosophy. It is our belief that Public Montessori Can Work.
