What is P-TECH and Early College?
P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High School. Dallas ISD has 18 designated P-TECH campuses. As part of the program, students can choose a career pathway and take courses that provide the academic, technical, and workplace skills that are attractive to employers. Students have the potential to earn up to 60 credit hours or an associate degree in four to six years, along with industry certificates for their selected career pathway — opportunities that can potentially lead to paid internships and job placement after graduation all while pursuing their high school diploma. Best of all, this opportunity comes tuition-free.
Which P-TECH/ECHS schools have the Teacher Education pathway?
Through partnerships with Dallas College, TAMUC, and UNT Dallas, six P-TECH/ECHS schools offer the Teacher Education pathway. Credits earned in this program will set students up to complete a Bachelors with Teacher Certification – allowing students to become future elementary teachers.
Visit each schools’ site below to learn more about their programs and industry partnerships.
Who can apply?
The P-TECH/ECHS are designed to serve incoming ninth grade students who have the determination to attend college, are first-generation college students, and have been historically underrepresented in higher education. Apply Today.
