Deputy Chief of Police Juan M. Cedillo is a certified Master Peace Officer with over 22 years of service in the Dallas Independent School District Police Department. He holds a Master of Arts in Social and Criminal Justice and has built a career focused on leadership, operational excellence, and community-centered school safety. Deputy Chief Cedillo began his career with Dallas ISD in 2001 as a security officer at Village Fair Alternative School and was sworn in as a police officer in 2002. Over the course of his career, he has served in Patrol, Campus Services as a School Resource Officer, the Gang Unit, Criminal Investigations, and Field Operations. He has held progressive leadership roles, including Sergeant, Lieutenant, Interim Assistant Chief, and was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2024, where he currently oversees the Support Services Division. Throughout his tenure, Deputy Chief Cedillo has supervised campus policing operations, investigated high-profile cases, and managed the day-to-day operations of uniformed police and security personnel. He is widely recognized for his commitment to community engagement, with a particular emphasis on supporting at-risk youth and addressing gang-related issues through prevention and intervention. Deputy Chief Cedillo is the proud father of two children and continues to serve the Dallas ISD community with integrity, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to student safety and well-being. |
