Manuel Murillo was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in a hardworking family whose perseverance shaped his commitment to service and community. A graduate of Alvarado High School, he earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Navarro College before enlisting in the United States Army in 2009 as a military police officer. His assignments included Fort Leonard Wood, Yongsan, South Korea, and Fort Hood. After medically retiring in 2013 due to duty-related injuries, Manuel remained dedicated to public service and pursued a career in law enforcement.

He joined the Dallas ISD Police Department in 2017, serving campuses throughout Oak Cliff and contributing to specialized units, including the Gang Unit, Field Training, Police Instruction, and Honor Guard. Promoted to sergeant in 2021, he supervised multiple patrol operations across the district. Lt. Murillo holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Tarleton State University and is completing his master’s degree at American Military University. He is committed to fostering a safe, supportive learning environment and strengthening the partnership between law enforcement and the community he serves.
