Lieutenant Paul Mitchell is a native of Dallas, Texas (Oak Cliff), and a proud graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, where he embraced the school's core values of Pride, Respect, and Responsibility, principles that continue to guide both his personal and professional life.
Lieutenant Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas Southern University. While attending TSU, he was a member of the world-renowned "Ocean of Soul" Marching Band, proudly performing as a trumpet player in the legendary "8th Wonder of the World."
In 2010, Lieutenant Mitchell began his law enforcement career with the Dallas ISD Police Department as a Campus Officer. Throughout his career, he has served at several campuses, including John L. Patton (formerly Nolan Estes), South Oak Cliff High School, and the historic James Madison High School. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to student safety led to his promotion to Campus Sergeant and, most recently, to the rank of Lieutenant.
A strong advocate for community engagement, Lieutenant Mitchell is passionate about building positive relationships, mentoring youth, and inspiring the next generation to achieve their goals. He believes that meaningful connections with students, families, and the community are essential to creating safe and successful learning environments.
Lieutenant Mitchell is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, organizations that reflect his commitment to service, leadership, and lifelong brotherhood.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Lieutenant Mitchell enjoys fishing, sports, DJing, traveling, spending time with family, and giving back to the community he proudly calls home.
