The program is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership for children in the years immediately before the prime ages for introduction into gangs and delinquent behavior.
Law Enforcement Collegiate AcademiesOfficers go into high schools with law programs and assist with teaching the penal code and criminal procedures. This allows students to gain an understanding from a law enforcement perspective.
Dallas ISD Police Student InternshipStudents receive a paid internship in our department throughout the summer. They will gain exposure to all aspects of the department by working with each unit. This includes patrol, campus, social media, community outreach, and detective work.
Reading with CopsPolice go to elementary schools and read to students. This fosters positive interactions with law enforcement at a young age.
