The Dallas ISD Police Department is committed to building meaningful relationships with the students, families, staff, and communities we serve. Community engagement is an essential part of our approach to school safety—creating opportunities for positive interaction, open communication, education, and collaboration throughout Dallas ISD.

Our officers work beyond traditional law enforcement roles to serve as mentors, educators, partners, and trusted resources. Through programs such as G.R.E.A.T., Reading with Cops, Law Enforcement Collegiate Academies, student internships, UNIDOS, school events, safety education, and other community outreach initiatives, we strive to connect with students and families in ways that build trust and strengthen our schools.

We believe effective school policing begins with relationships. By working alongside students, parents, campus leaders, community organizations, and public safety partners, Dallas ISD Police helps identify concerns, connect families with resources, encourage positive decision-making, and create opportunities for meaningful dialogue.
