Q: Are Dallas ISD police officers real police officers?
A: Yes, Dallas ISD Police Officers are really police officers. They attended training just like any law enforcement officer and are certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
Q: Can Dallas ISD police make arrests and write tickets?
A: Dallas ISD Police Officers may arrest offenders of the law and issue citations, on and off a school campus, within their jurisdiction and scope of authority.
Q: What court do I go to if I get a ticket?
A: Tickets issued by Dallas ISD Police Officers are adjudicated in Justice of the Peace Courts in Dallas County.
Q: What happens if I don't pay my ticket?
A: If you do not appear in court or pay your fine, the court may issue a warrant for your arrest. Any police officer may arrest you once the warrant is issued.
Q: How can I become a Dallas ISD Police Officer?
A: There are two ways that a person can become a Dallas ISD Police Officer. Applicants who have completed a police training academy approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and passed the state licensing exam within the past two years can apply for a Police Officer position.
