Your Guide to Applying to College
Are you ready to apply?
College application dates vary, but many applications open during the summer before your senior year. Be sure to check each college’s admissions website for its specific application opening date and deadline.
- Applying to a Texas public university? Visit Apply Texas
- Applying to a private or an out-of-state university? Visit the Common App
- If your college or university is not listed on either platform, visit the school's admissions website for application instructions. Some institutions offer their own application directly through their website.
* PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO ALL APPLICATION DEADLINES *
During your junior and senior years, you are allowed two excused absences per school year for official college visits. Ask the college or university for documentation confirming that you attended a campus tour. When you return to school, submit the documentation to your campus attendance office.
