African American Student Mentorship Program
The AASM programs is designed to assist African American students who qualify based on three criteria. To qualify for this program students must be African American, need guidance in academics, attendance, and/or behavior. AASM students will receive mentorship designed to help the student overcome systemic obstacles. Every Dallas ISD campus will have the opportunity to have a mentor for up to 10 African American students.
Emergent Bilingual Mentorship Program
The EB mentorship program was created in partnership between the Racial Equity Office and the Dual Language/ESL department. Research has shown that Emergent Bilingual students in high schools have a high need for mentorship and guidance. This program is designed to assist those Emergent Bilingual students who need assistance adjusting to Dallas ISD schools. To qualify for this program students must be an Emergent Bilingual student as designated by the ESL Department, and need guidance in academics, attendance, and/or behavior. EB students will receive mentorship designed to help the student overcome language barriers and integrate into Dallas ISD school. Every high school will have the opportunity to have a mentor for up to 10 EB students.
