Racial Equity Priorities
The REO fosters family engagement and accountability by partnerships through community stakeholders.
- Pre-K Family Partnerships engage AA three and four year olds in early learning STEAM and literary concepts to build strong academic foundations for future success.
- Public Equity Dashboard (under reconstruction) displays GPMs and racial equity pillar metrics to inform the Dallas ISD community of the district’s racial equity progress.
- Trustee Appointed Advisory Committee (TAAC) consists of liaisons from each trustee district who collaborate with the Racial Equity Office and the Equity Progress Team to support the elimination of systemic disparities. Committee members also apprise the district of community equity issues and communicate the district’s equity progress back to their respective communities.
- Racial Equity Influencers are representatives from each Dallas ISD campus and central office organization who collaborate with the REO to develop a cultural skill set of best practices designed to guide and professionally develop staff at their respective work locations.
- REO (Pronounced “REE-O”) Talk Podcast features local and nationally respected racial equity advocates to discuss trending and historical racial equity topics.
Internal & External Community Engagement Pillar Metric
Pillar 5 Metric: For this pillar, we assess families’ sense of progress, measured as the average percentage of families at a student’s campus who respond that they believe the district is headed in the right direction on the Spring family survey.
Target: We aspire for high levels of satisfaction with our families and have set a target of 90%.
