School Safety

Department of School Safety

School Safety has been defined as an environment where students are safe from violence, bullying, harassment, and the influence of substance abuse.

Safe schools promote the protection of all students from violence, exposure to weapons and threats, theft, bullying and harassment, the sale or use of illegal substances on school grounds, and other emergencies.  School safety is linked to improved student and school outcomes. In particular, emotional and physical safety in school is related to academic performance.

For students to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially, Dallas ISD has implemented safety measures as the foundation for success.

Mission

Our mission is to support and foster learning by ensuring that all schools and district facilities are equipped with the necessary tools and technology systems to monitor and maintain a safe environment for students, staff, and the community.
