Pegasus debater Natalia Hernandez, a freshman in the visual cluster at BTWHSPVA, was named the Freshman Spotlight Debater of the year by the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance. Natalia won a laptop computer and a scholarship for college-prep coaching.

 

Overall, Pegasus Debate took 5th place team for all of 2013-14, winning the All-City Novice Debate championships; qualifying for the Bush Institute national debate finals; and picking up 13 top team awards and 19 Top 10 speaker awards. Ms. Townsel was also a finalist for Dallas Urban Debate Alliance coach of the year.
