OVERVIEW
The Skyline tradition for greatness began with the shared visions of B.J. Stamps, the first high school principal, and Gene Davenport, the first Career Development Center Principal. They were very involved in all aspects of the school's planning process. During the construction of the campus, they were surveying the most ambitious project in the history of the Dallas ISD. While discussing their future plans for the school, they stopped on the second-floor hallway between the B building and the Main Building. As they stood looking out of the window, they could see the familiar view of the Dallas skyline. This was when they decided that Skyline would be the perfect name for the nation's first magnet school.
