Postsecondary Success Department
According to a report by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, the share of jobs that require postsecondary education has more than doubled over the last 40 years. By the year 2020, 65 percent of all jobs in the U.S. will require postsecondary education and training beyond high school.Dallas ISD has several programs in place to help students learn about their postsecondary education options, and to help them achieve postsecondary success. Research shows that having a postsecondary education - a certificate or degree beyond a high school diploma - has several benefits beyond securing employment. A College Board report identifies these benefits, which include higher earnings for individuals with higher levels of education. See College Board's Five Ways Ed Pays brochure for statistics that reveal more about the value of a college education.
