I teach AP World History, World History, and Social Studies. I graduated from the University of North Texas with degrees in History and French. I have been here at TJ since 2014. Through the use of AVID strategies, we provide a thorough understanding of World History. Our courses will enable students to better analyze and evaluate the world and time in which they live by helping them acquire a fundamental understanding of the past.

I teach World History, both regular and PreAP. I graduated from Midwestern State University in 2013 with a Bachelor's in History and in 2018 with a Master's in Educational Leadership. I began my teaching career at Thomas Jefferson in 2013, and I love the environment of our school. I try to provide a welcoming place for my students to explore history and the world around them. Through critical thinking, we analyze the actions of those who came before us and learn a little bit about ourselves along the way.

I attended Florida State University and graduated with a B.S. in Social Science Education. Thomas Jefferson High School is my first teaching position. I'm in charge of Research and Design of Social Studies. My classroom is an open and inviting place where all voices have a safe place to be heard, learned from, and to grow from together. Through our research of different topics, my students are building their communication skills, vocabulary, and are becoming college ready each and every day. #PPBDI

I teach AP Government & Politics, Economics at Brookhaven. I attended Oklahoma State University and UT Dallas. I earned my Bachelors in History in 2006 and my Masters in History in 2009. I began teaching as a volunteer English teacher for immigrants in south Dallas. I taught English in South Korea, Mongolia and Morocco after that. I spent two years teaching Language Arts and Social Studies in Washington state. I teach in a traditional classroom and work hard to present my lessons as informative, rigorous and pertinent to the ACP students take at the end of the year.
