Shavannia Dash is an educator who has served the children and families of the Dallas ISD for the past 17 years having begun her career as a Pre-Kinder teacher in Louisiana in 1994. During her tenure in DISD, she’s taught almost all grades at the elementary level in addition to serving as a Reading First Instructional Coach and most recently, as the Principal at George H.W. Bush ES. She supports a “children first” approach to education and believes all students can achieve their full potential if given meaningful opportunities to learn. Mrs. Dash holds several certifications including ESL, Gifted and Talented, Elementary Education grades 1-8, English Language Arts Grades 4-8 / 8-12 and Principal. She also holds Masters Degrees in Elementary Education and Educational Administration in addition to being a Doctoral student at Texas A&M University- Commerce. As the new Principal at Elisha M. Pease Elementary School, Mrs. Dash is excited about the work she will lead to ensure excellence and equity for all students in our community.
